Whitstable Harbour Board

The board provides strategic direction for the harbour, including land and property in accordance with Canterbury City Council policies.

The board has 10 members, seven local councillors and three independent members. It meets approximately every six weeks, and  meetings are open to the public, except when confidential items of business are being discussed.  To see details of the board, follow the link below.

Audits

The harbour has to comply with many statutory and good practice requirements. ampills.com. It is assessed regularly, and specific audits are undertaken for:

  • Port Marine safety code
  • Navigation aids
  • Health and safety
  • TRANSEC (regulation of transport security)
  • Financial procedures
